Delivery from Tesselle
Shipping, Delivery and Warehouse Pickup Policy
This policy applies to samples, in-stock products, production and custom orders, freight deliveries, and warehouse pickups.
Sample Shipping
Stocked samples are shipped within the 50 United States and Puerto Rico via USPS Priority Mail for a small shipping surcharge.
Canadian customers may purchase samples through Wayfair.ca.
For sample shipments to other locations, please contact Tesselle at 951-781-3000 or info@tesselle.com for a custom shipping quote.
Custom Samples
Custom samples featuring specific patterns, colors, or combinations are quoted individually. Please contact us with your project requirements so that we can provide pricing and availability.
Purpose of the Sample Program
Tesselle’s sample program is intended to help customers evaluate products for larger construction and design projects. We operate this program at a loss.
Before shipping samples, we may contact non-trade customers to:
Learn more about the planned project
Confirm that the project is being completed with a licensed professional
Verify that Tesselle’s order minimums and lead times are appropriate for the project
To preserve first-quality inventory for project orders, we may provide samples with minor chips or slight damage along the corners or edges. Samples will still be suitable for evaluating the product’s color, texture, pattern, scale, and overall appearance.
Sample quantities may be limited to:
One large breeze block
Two small breeze blocks
Four cement tiles
Additional samples may be made available after Tesselle has prepared a quotation for the planned project.
Our sample program does not support orders intended for resale, decoration, craft projects, or other purposes unrelated to evaluating products for a potential Tesselle project. Sample orders that fall outside the scope of the program may be cancelled and refunded.
Sample Damage
Samples are shipped individually or in small packages and may sustain minor damage during transit. Minor chips, edge damage, or corner damage do not qualify for replacements or refunds when the sample remains suitable for evaluating the product.
Project orders are packed in boxes, secured to pallets, and shipped by freight, which significantly reduces the likelihood of this type of damage.
Shipping of In-Stock and Production Orders
The following estimated delivery times apply to orders delivered within the contiguous 48 United States:
Products stocked in the United States generally arrive within 1–2 weeks.
Products stocked in Mexico generally arrive within 3–4 weeks.
Special and custom orders can often be delivered within 8–12 weeks.
Production and delivery times for special or custom orders depend on the order size, manufacturing location, product specifications, factory capacity, and freight conditions. Lead times can only be confirmed after an order has been placed and reviewed.
Delivery dates are estimates and are not guaranteed.
Orders Below the Published Minimum
Please contact us for a custom quote when your project requires less than the published minimum quantity.
Customers may also purchase as little as one box of select cement tiles through Wayfair.com.
Delivery Areas and Access Restrictions
Our standard freight network serves locations within the contiguous 48 United States that are safely accessible by commercial trucks.
An alternate delivery address may be required when a property cannot be safely or reasonably accessed by an independent less-than-truckload freight carrier. Examples include:
Narrow or sharply curved roads
Unpaved roads
Steep inclines
Remote locations
Gated or restricted-access areas
Locations without adequate space for a commercial truck to turn around
Islands or communities accessible only by ferry or barge
Parts of the Florida Keys outside our standard trucking network
Key Biscayne is included in our standard trucking network.
When the final destination is not safely accessible, Tesselle will deliver the order to the closest practical freight terminal, commercial address, or other accessible location. The customer is responsible for arranging transportation from that point to the final destination.
Please contact us before ordering if your delivery location may have access restrictions. We will work with you to determine the most practical delivery arrangement.
Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and International Project Orders
Tesselle accepts online orders for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and international destinations. Unless other arrangements are confirmed in writing, Tesselle will deliver the order to the closest suitable freight-forwarding location within the contiguous 48 United States.
The customer is responsible for:
Selecting and hiring the freight forwarder
Transportation beyond the designated delivery point
Export documentation
Customs clearance
Duties, taxes, tariffs, port fees, and related charges
Final delivery to the project location
Tesselle may be able to recommend freight-forwarding resources but does not assume responsibility for services provided by third parties.
Please contact us at 951-781-3000 or info@tesselle.com before placing an order that will ultimately be shipped outside the contiguous United States.
Canadian customers may order select Tesselle products through Wayfair.ca.
Project Order Delivery
Project orders of cement tiles and breeze blocks are packed in boxes, secured to pallets, and shipped by commercial freight carrier.
Individual boxes generally weigh approximately 30–40 pounds.
Loading Dock, Forklift and Lift-Gate Service
Please notify Tesselle before shipment when the delivery location does not have a loading dock or forklift. We can request a truck equipped with a lift gate to lower the pallet from the truck to ground level.
Lift-gate deliveries are generally curbside. Lift-gate service does not include:
Moving products into a building
Carrying boxes to the installation area
Unpacking the shipment
Placing pallets in a garage, driveway, courtyard, or other requested location
Removing packing materials
The freight carrier will determine where the pallet can be safely placed based on truck access, road conditions, property conditions, and the driver’s judgment. Exact pallet placement cannot be guaranteed.
Customers should arrange appropriate labor and equipment to move the boxes or pallets after delivery.
Scheduling the Delivery
The freight carrier will contact the customer to schedule a delivery appointment.
Please respond promptly and accept delivery as soon as the order is available. Delayed scheduling, missed appointments, refused deliveries, address corrections, redelivery requests, or extended storage at the freight terminal may result in additional charges. These charges are the customer’s responsibility.
A responsible adult must be present to receive and inspect the shipment.
Inspecting Freight Deliveries
Please inspect the shipment before signing the delivery receipt.
Check for:
Torn or crushed boxes
Broken pallet wrapping
Shifted or leaning boxes
Damaged pallets
Missing boxes
Visible product damage
Signs that the shipment was mishandled or repackaged
Any visible damage or shortage must be clearly described on the freight carrier’s delivery receipt before it is signed. Writing “subject to inspection” is not sufficient documentation of visible damage.
Photograph the pallet and packaging before it is unpacked, including:
All sides of the pallet
The shipping label
Damaged packaging
Damaged products
The signed delivery receipt
Freight damage or shortages must be reported to Tesselle within two calendar days of delivery. Please retain all products, boxes, pallets, wrapping, and packing materials until the claim has been reviewed.
Contact us at 951-781-3000 or info@tesselle.com to report shipping damage.
Warehouse Pickups
Products stored at Tesselle’s Riverside, California warehouse may be eligible for customer pickup. When pickup is available, the option will appear during checkout or will be included in your quotation.
Warehouse pickup is available by confirmed appointment only. Please do not arrive until Tesselle has notified you that the order is ready and has confirmed the pickup date and time.
The customer is responsible for bringing:
A vehicle large enough to safely transport the order
Appropriate weight capacity
Tie-downs, straps, blankets, or other securing materials
Any labor or equipment needed beyond the loading assistance confirmed by Tesselle
Before arriving, please confirm whether your vehicle can accommodate the size, weight, and number of pallets or boxes included in the order.
Tesselle may refuse to load an order when the vehicle appears unsuitable, overloaded, unsafe, or unable to secure the products properly.
The customer or the customer’s representative must inspect the order at pickup. Responsibility for loss or damage transfers to the customer once the order has been loaded into the customer’s vehicle or released to the customer’s carrier.
Warehouse pickup does not eliminate applicable sales tax unless valid exemption or resale documentation has been approved before pickup.
Required Overage
Handmade cement products may experience minor chips, jobsite damage, installation cuts, or normal variation. Additional material may also be needed for future repairs or replacements.
Tesselle requires customers to order:
At least 10% overage for cement tile
At least 15% overage for breeze blocks
No less than one additional box or bundle, when that amount is greater than the applicable percentage
Customers and their installers are responsible for verifying measurements and determining the final quantity required before ordering.
We strongly recommend retaining unused material after installation because products purchased later may vary in color, texture, finish, or dimensions, and the original product may no longer be available.
Storage of Completed Orders
Tesselle will ship project orders as soon as all products are available unless another arrangement has been approved in writing.
When a customer requests that Tesselle hold a completed order, storage charges of $50 per pallet per month will apply. Storage charges may be prorated or billed in full-month increments at Tesselle’s discretion.
Orders may not be released until all product, freight, storage, and other outstanding charges have been paid.
Tesselle cannot guarantee extended storage availability. Customers should arrange delivery or pickup promptly after receiving notice that the order is ready.
Shipping Warranty and Product Characteristics
Tesselle’s warranty covers qualifying material and manufacturing defects and properly documented damage sustained during Tesselle-arranged shipping. Project shipments arranged by Tesselle are insured while in transit, subject to the freight carrier’s inspection, documentation, notification, and claims requirements.
Tesselle’s cement tiles and breeze blocks are handmade. Variation in color, shade, dimensions, texture, pattern alignment, surface finish, and edge appearance is inherent to the manufacturing process and contributes to the character of the product.
Minor edge or corner chips may occur during manufacturing, handling, shipping, and installation. These are generally concealed by mortar, grout, installation positioning, or normal finishing and are not necessarily considered defects.
When qualifying defective or damaged units exceed the required overage and prevent completion of the project, Tesselle will replace the affected units as promptly as reasonably possible. Replacement products may have normal variations from the original shipment.
Products are not eligible for return or replacement after they have been installed, cut, sealed, altered, treated, or removed from their original packaging without sufficient documentation of the condition in which they were received.
Installation and Care
Customers and installers must review the applicable Installation and Care Instructions before beginning the project:
Cement Tile Installation Instructions
Breeze Block Installation Instructions
Failure to follow Tesselle’s instructions, applicable building codes, engineering requirements, or accepted installation practices may void applicable warranty coverage.
Cancellations, Returns and Refunds
In-Stock Orders
In-stock orders cannot be cancelled after shipment.
Eligible in-stock products may be returned when they are:
In their original packaging
Unused and unaltered
In like-new and resalable condition
Authorized in advance by Tesselle
A restocking fee equal to the greater of $100 or 30% of the product’s original retail price before discounts will be deducted from the refund.
When the retained portion of an order would have qualified for a lower discount at the time of purchase, the difference between the original discount and the applicable revised discount will also be deducted from the refund.
Original shipping and delivery charges are not refundable.
The customer is responsible for arranging and paying for return transportation. Freight returns must be:
Packed securely in the original boxes whenever possible
Placed on a suitable pallet
Wrapped according to freight-industry standards
Fully insured
Protected from moisture and movement during transit
No refund will be issued until the returned products have been received and inspected at Tesselle’s Riverside warehouse.
Small authorized returns may be delivered to the warehouse by appointment.
Please contact Tesselle at 951-781-3000 before returning any product. Approved returns will receive a Return Goods Authorization and return instructions. Unauthorized returns may be refused.
Cancellation Before Shipment
Orders for standard, open-line products that are cancelled before shipment are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 15% of the original retail price before discounts.
Additional nonrefundable costs may apply when Tesselle has already incurred freight, handling, transfer, packaging, or other expenses related to the order.
Custom and Production Orders
Custom, special-order, made-to-order, and production orders cannot be cancelled after production has begun and cannot be returned or refunded except in the case of a qualifying defect.
Normal variations in handmade cement products, including color variation, texture variation, surface irregularities, and rough or slightly chipped edges, are not considered defects.
Please contact Tesselle immediately at 951-781-3000 or info@tesselle.com to report a potentially defective or damaged product.
Extra Material
Customers are encouraged to retain extra material for future repairs or modifications.

Cement products show variation in color and design and will not be identical from piece to piece. This is a result to the hand-made process and the nature of cement, and considered a part of their natural beauty. Mixing tiles from different boxes during installation is suggested to produce even variation across the surface.
It is industry standard to order at least 10-15% more than needed to cover your actual square footage, or 1 extra box/bundle, whichever amount is greater. We require 10% overage on tile and 15% overage on block. This is to cover minor shipping and jobsite mishaps.
Accurate lead times can only be quoted once an order and payment is received.
Production will normally begin immediately after a custom order is placed. Orders cannot be canceled once production has begun.
All shipments are insured with the freight carrier, and we will work to resolve any issues related to freight damage. Please note any visible freight damage on delivery receipt. Inspect all products and report freight damage within 2 days. Please take photos of any freight damage and report it to us immediately at 951-781-3000 or info@tesselle.com.
We do not accept responsibility for lost working time or any liability in the unlikely event of a delivery being delayed, damaged, or incorrect. The customer is responsible for the inspection of all material when received.
Products may not be returned except for defect, and prior to alteration or installation. Where a product return or refund is arranged, only product cost will be covered.
Some colors will gently fade over time; direct sunlight will accelerate this process.
Cement Tiles are a natural product and must be sealed prior to grouting. Tiles may crack if installed in an environment that will experience temperatures below 34 degrees Fahrenheit. Please carefully follow the installation and care instructions found at http://tesselle.com/pages/installation-care .
Breeze Block structures are subject to unique building codes in each municipality, and require professional planning with the expertise of a structural engineer, licensed contractor or professional mason. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that codes are met and permits are obtained if required.
Production deliveries will be made on pallets, and will be delivered at the closest point possible to the delivery address. Please inform us if delivery is not being made to a dock, and we will request a lift gate. Products will be in small boxes that weigh 30-38 lbs each for easy break-down. Customer must be present at time of delivery.
Warranty
Our warranty covers material and manufacturing defects. Variation in color and finish are to be expected in concrete products, as well as minor chips around the edges, which will disappear upon installation. If the number of defective products exceeds the required overage and prevents the installation from being completed, the products will be replaced as quickly as possible.
Cancellation, Return & Refund Policy
In-stock orders may not be cancelled once they are shipped, but can be returned in original packaging and in like-new condition. A $100 or 30% restocking fee (whichever is greater) will be subtracted from original selling price. Return freight with insurance must be arranged by the customer, and refund will not be provided until product is received in our warehouse and inspected. Shipping charges are not refundable.
Custom orders cannot be cancelled once in production and cannot be returned or refunded except for defect. Slight color variation or rough edges are inherent to the product and are not considered defects. Please contact us immediately at 951-781-3000 to report defective or damaged product.
