Shipping Policy - International Design

International Design delivers collectible design furniture, limited-edition artworks, and bespoke design objects to clients worldwide. Each piece is curated for quality, uniqueness, and craftsmanship, and our logistics practices reflect the same standard of excellence.

1. Global Delivery Coverage We ship to over 50 countries across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia. Shipping is handled by specialized logistics partners with expertise in art and high-value design transportation.

2. Production & Delivery Timelines Most of our pieces are made-to-order or produced in limited quantities. As a result, lead times vary depending on the designer, material availability, and technical complexity:

Standard production and fulfillment: 6 to 12 weeks after payment confirmation.

In-stock pieces (limited selection): dispatched within 5–10 business days.

Custom, oversized, or highly technical creations: may exceed 12 weeks. Specific timelines will be communicated individually.

3. Order Processing Orders are processed upon receipt of payment. Each order is individually verified and scheduled with the relevant studio or designer. Clients will receive:

Order Confirmation Email upon purchase

Production Status Update (if applicable)

Shipping Notification with carrier information and tracking details 48-72 hours before dispatch

4. Packaging & Handling All items are packed by art shipping professionals using museum-grade or design-certified materials. Fragile, large, or unique works are crated when necessary. Handling instructions are provided where relevant.

5. Shipping Methods

Standard Ground Delivery for most furniture and collectible items

White Glove Delivery available upon request (extra charge)

Air Freight or Express available for select destinations or urgent timelines

Consolidated shipments possible for multiple items or project orders

Shipping method depends on the item’s size, weight, value, and destination.

6. Risk Transfer & Insurance Risk transfers to the buyer once goods are picked up by the carrier from the artist or studio. However, International Design insures all shipments at declared value:

Insurance is included in the shipping cost

Insurance covers transport-related damage, theft, or loss

Designers are not liable for transit damage unless caused by insufficient packaging

7. Delivery Protocol We strongly recommend being present to receive and inspect deliveries. Clients should:

Inspect packaging upon delivery

Note visible damage on the delivery slip

Report damage within 24 hours to support@internationaldesign.com with photographs

8. Customs, Duties & Local Taxes For deliveries outside the European Union:

Prices shown exclude local duties or import taxes

Any applicable taxes are the buyer’s responsibility

Customs delays may affect delivery timelines

We provide documentation to facilitate smooth customs clearance, but cannot be held responsible for third-party delays.

9. Address Accuracy & Delivery Conditions Please ensure that delivery addresses are accurate, complete, and accessible. International Design is not responsible for delays or surcharges due to:

Incorrect or incomplete address information

Restricted access or failed delivery attempts

Absence of recipient at time of delivery

Additional fees may apply for redelivery, storage, or special access (e.g., stair carry, crane lift).

Due to the bespoke nature of the artworks, collectible design objects, and limited-edition furniture offered by International Design, we do not accept returns for reasons of change of mind. Each piece is crafted by hand by leading international designers or artists and produced in very limited quantities. Once an order is placed and confirmed, production and allocation are initiated and cannot be reversed.

This policy is clearly stated in compliance with Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU), which allows exceptions to the standard 14-day withdrawal period for goods that are "made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalized."

All products sold by International Desiagn are considered made-to-order or limited edition , unless explicitly indicated otherwise on the product page.

By placing an order, you acknowledge that you waive your standard right of withdrawal under EU law.

Production timelines commence only after payment confirmation, and cancellation is not possible once production has started.

Damaged or Defective Goods

If a product arrives damaged or defective, International Design will work with the Client to pursue resolution via the shipping carrier and/or applicable insurance. All items are professionally packed by specialists according to international art shipping standards, and risk is transferred upon pickup by the carrier, as described in Section 5.

Process in Case of Shipping Damage:

You must inspect the package upon delivery. Any damage must be noted on the delivery slip and reported to International Design within 24 hours of delivery with photographic proof.

In the case of concealed (hidden) damage, please notify us within 8 calendar days of receipt.

If confirmed, we will initiate a claim and coordinate a solution, which may include repair, replacement, or refund depending on the insurer’s assessment.

Insurance Coverage: International Design insures all shipments at declared value against transport-related damage. Designers are not responsible for breakage or transit-related damages unless caused by their packaging party.
