Order Processing

House of Stereo processes and fulfills orders as quickly as possible while maintaining our quality standards. While we make every effort to keep products in stock, items may occasionally become backordered and temporarily unavailable.

Orders are processed and shipped Monday through Friday. Orders are not shipped on Saturdays or Sundays.

Free Shipping Orders

For orders that qualify for free shipping, House of Stereo reserves the right to select the carrier and shipping method.

If you select a paid shipping method at checkout, your order will be shipped using the selected carrier and service.

Shipping Method Selection

The shipping method selected at checkout applies only to the method of transit and does not affect order processing time or the date your order ships.

For example, if you select express shipping (overnight, next-day, two-day, etc.), your order will still go through our standard processing period before shipment. Processing times may vary and can take five or more business days depending on product availability and order volume.

Once your order is ready to ship, it will be sent using the shipping method selected at checkout.

Transit Times

House of Stereo and our shipping partners do not guarantee delivery dates or transit times, regardless of the shipping method selected.

Any delivery estimates provided by House of Stereo, shipping carriers, or other third parties should be considered estimates only.

Shipping carriers typically do not include weekends in their transit time estimates, and none of the shipping options offered on our website guarantee delivery on Saturdays or Sundays.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information, including the correct mailing address and a valid telephone number, when placing an order.

Local Pickup

Our website lists “Local Pickup Available” for all products we sell. This does not necessarily mean that an item is currently in stock or immediately available for pickup.

The designation simply indicates that local pickup is an available option, as House of Stereo is a brick-and-mortar retail store open to the public. Customers are encouraged to contact us in advance to confirm product availability before arriving for pickup.

Shipping Magnepan Speakers:

Magnepan speakers are not part of our “Free shipping over $2000” offer. Magnepan speakers ship on a pallet via freight carrier. As stated on all Magnepan product pages, we will reach out to you after your purchase to provide a shipping quote. Alternatively, we encourage buyers to contact us prior to making a purchase so that we may offer a shipping quote.

Due to the wide range of products we offer, return eligibility varies by product category. Please review the full return policy below for exclusions and conditions.

30-Day Return Policy

House of Stereo offers a 30-day return window for many items we sell, beginning on the date of delivery.

To be eligible for return, items must:

• Be returned within 30 days of delivery

• Be in original, resalable condition

• Include all original packaging, accessories, manuals, cables, warranty cards, and materials

Items that have been opened or used are subject to a restocking fee of up to 25%.

Items that arrive opened, cosmetically damaged, missing accessories, or without original manufacturer packaging may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 25%, or the return may be refused if the item cannot be resold.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is confirmed to be defective.

Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return:

• Headphones and other items worn on the body (for hygiene reasons)

• Vacuum tubes

• Phono cartridges and replacement stylus

• Other consumable or wear items

These items may only be exchanged if they are brand new and determined to be defective out of the box.

Refunds or exchanges for defective items will only be issued after the item has been inspected and confirmed defective by House of Stereo or the manufacturer.

Special Order Item

Items that are ordered specifically for a customer are considered Special Order Items. The majority of items on our website are Special Order.

Once a special order has been placed with the manufacturer:

• The order cannot be cancelled

• The item is non-returnable

If the item you purchase does not fall in the following category, it is considered a Special Order:

•Turntables under $400

•Pro-ject connect-it cables

In limited circumstances where a return is approved, a restocking fee of up to 25% plus all shipping and freight charges may apply.

Magnepan speakers are considered Special Order Items.

Audio Group Denmark Products

All Audio Group Denmark products (including Børresen Acoustics, Aavik, Ansuz, and Axxess) sold by House of Stereo include the manufacturer’s 5-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship.

These products are special-order items that ship directly from Denmark and typically require 2–4 weeks for fulfillment.

Audio Group Denmark products are non-returnable and orders cannot be cancelled once the order has been placed with the manufacturer.

If a defect arises during the warranty period, House of Stereo will assist in coordinating repair or replacement in accordance with the manufacturer’s warranty terms.

Free Shipping Orders

If an order qualified for free shipping and the item is returned, the original outbound shipping cost will be deducted from the refund amount.

Used and Demo Equipment

All sales on used and demo equipment are final.

Used items are sold as-is and are not eligible for returns, refunds, or partial refunds. Exceptions will not be made.

Return Authorization (RMA)

All returns require a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) issued by House of Stereo.

Returns sent without an RMA number clearly marked on the outside of the shipping carton may be refused.

All return shipments must include:

• A note explaining the reason for the return

• All original packaging materials

• All accessories, cables, manuals, power supplies, remotes, warranty cards, and included components

Returned items must arrive in resalable condition. Returns that do not meet these requirements may be refused or subject to additional restocking fees.
